I went through something during my high-school years that shaped my whole life.
This series of events could have taken me down a bad path of negativity, failure, and sadness if I had let it.
And frankly, I’m pretty sure my parents never recovered from the loss.
Seeing the farm go into bankruptcy was devastating at the time, but today I use that experience to fuel my success.
My difficult experiences in life and extreme struggle have taught me a whole new set of skills that I still use to this day!

Inevitably, when I’m speaking on stage in front of an audience and share this story, more than one farmer comes up to me afterward and says they lived a similar story.
Right now is a nebulous time for a lot of farmers.
The uncertainty and potential to lose everything is on everyone’s mind.
I want to give you the tools and skills you need to make it through whatever you’re dealing with — good or bad.
Some of you are swimming in money and others are losing their off-farm jobs or markets are closing and you’re being classified as “non-essential.”
Regardless of what you’re going through, and no matter which end of the spectrum you’re on, today’s story of loss and recovery will show you how to use your struggles as fuel and still come out ahead.
